Born and raised in the Washington, DC area Ameka J (AJ) has shared the stage with local and national artist.  After serving in the US Navy and spending several years playing keys, producing and writing for others AJ decided to  “create her own lane” in the music industry.  Ameka J is a Berklee School of Music alumna, a musician/singer/song writer and producer.  Like her musical idol the late Prince Roger Nelson, Ameka J is a gifted and well-versed multi-instrumentalist.  After playing for international artists like Kenny Lattimore, Ginuwine and many more Ameka J is ready to THRIVE in her own artistry! Ameka J was nominated for a Wammie Award for her music production on the song “Energy” which was written and performed by R&B artist Nina Sol.  Check out AJ's debut single "Rush" which was written, produced, performed and recorded in her recording studio near Washington, DC.
